POCOLA, OK (June 13th, 2015) – Mother Nature tried to knock us down one more time on Saturday night, but, in the end, the strong survived. She knocked out racing for most area tracks, but the famous high banks were in top shape earlier in the afternoon and had dodged most of the area rain until about 5:45 PM. It was then when a relatively short, but powerful, rain shower drenched the track and early arriving fans. This pushed the pre-race activities back to about 7:45 PM with a cooler temperature around 80 degrees. The new clay handled the unexpected deluge of water well and provided a wide, smooth and very fast throughout the night’s races producing 16 second lap times.

The first order of business, as always, was to honor the last races (June 6th) A Feature winners with their trophies, interviews and photo taking on the pass through in front of the grandstands after the pre-race ceremonies of the invocation and the national anthem.

Heat racing action in all five classes, plus three sprint car heats and B Feature, took the large crowd of race fans to intermission at 10: 15 PM. The intermission break gave everyone a chance to stretch their legs and get some of the awesome concession stand food along with the soon to be world famous Menasco BBQ.

The first A Feature action was for the Pure Stocks with Dennis Slader (19 – Muskogee, OK) taking his fifth A Feature win, after his vacation week, while Chris Perkins (88 – Rudy, AR) and Jesse Garner (2 - Alma, AR) rounded out the top three.

In the Super Stock A Feature, Neil Johnston (17 – Fort Smith, AR) made it back to back feature wins while picking up his fourth A Feature win of the season, with Randy Moses, Sr. (75M – Muskogee, OK) close behind in second and TJ Moore (14J - Fort Smith, AR) in third.

The AmeriFlex OCRS Sprint Cars took to the track next for their A Feature. While turning 16 second laps, Sean McClelland (1 – Tulsa, OK) was able to run down and pass early race leader Robert Sellers (4X – Mustang, OK) with the help of a caution and red flag. Zach Chappell (50Z – Talala, OK) rounded out the top three.

The IMCA Sport Mods A Feature saw Kayden Menasco (49 – Dora, AR) pick up his second A Feature win of the season ahead of Ken McCarty (1 – Rogers, AR) and Gerry Vaughn (77 – Greenwood, AR).

The Factory/I Stock A Feature was up next with Chris Patterson (48 – Muldrow, OK) picking up his fourth A Feature win of the year ahead of last week’s winner, Jay Anderson (36 – Springdale, AR), in second with Bren t Grover (17 - Pocola, OK) in third.

The IMCA Modified A Feature saw Tate Cole (89 – Fort Gibson, OK) return to his winning ways with his fourth A Feature win, after a two month drought, as Chris Lewis (15L – Springdale, AR) finished in second, while Dallas Bourland (60B – Fort Smith, AR) crossed the finish line in third.

The last feature of the night was a combined Front Wheel Drive and Mini-Stock A Feature with Bobby Mulkey (6T – Alma, AR) in first ahead of Matt Hobbs (18H – Subiaco, AR) and James Poe (919 – Gravette, AR).
