Cole Wins 11 as Rose, Green, Henry and Ledford all Win First

THE EVENT

POCOLA, OK (September 10TH, 2016) – Night number sixteen of weekly racing saw another dominating performance by one driver and four others win their first A Feature of the season. Cooler temperatures greeted the fans for a full night of racing action with 94 cars taking on the famous high banks, Plus, two of the features were 30 laps in length with added money and also featured a mandatory green flag pit stop.

The pre-race ceremonies included the invocation followed by the presentation of the nation’s colors during the National Anthem by 11 cars.

The race program started with heat racing for the IMCA Sport Mods/USRA B Mods, the Pure Stocks, the IMCA Modifieds, the Super Stocks and the USRA Modifieds.

At intermission everyone had a chance to stretch their legs and gett themselves some good food from the concession stand. Another 50/50 winner walked off with over $100 for their winning ticket. There were also some other winners of free tickets to future races. The previous race winners also received their trophies and had their photos taken.

TOP THREE

The first race on the track after intermission was the combined IMCA Sport Mods/USRA B Mods for their $500 to win Pit Stop 30 A Feature where each car had to make a mandatory green flag pit stop, in a designated area, to change at least one tire. After the scoring was tallied, Dean Green (28 – Siloam Springs, AR) was declared the victor, for his first win of the season, while Jacob Stoll (12) and Tate Cole (G8S – Fort Gibson, OK) finished second and third respectively.

Up next were the Pure Stocks for their $300 to win Pit Stop 30 A Feature that saw Duane Rose (3D – Mulberry, AR) capture the trophy, for his first win, over Ethan Hunter (1/4 – Alma, AR) and Chris Perkins (88 – Rudy, AR) after all of the mandatory green flag pit stops were made.

Next was the IMCA Modified A Feature where Tate Cole (89 – Fort Gibson, OK) took the win, for the third week in a row and 11TH of the season, as 15 year old Kayden Menasco (49K – Dora, OK) finished in second and Eric Beshoner (12 – Fort Smith, AR) finished third.

The next feature on the track was for the Super Stocks. Brandon Henry (8H – Ozark, AR) cruised to an easy first win of the season over Robert Southerland (39 – Sallisaw, OK) and Cody Jones (92 – Fort Smith, AR).

The 25 car USRA Modified A Feature was on the track last and saw Kyle Ledford (75 – Greenwood, AR) pick up his first win of the year over Brian Williams (26 – Fayetteville, AR) and Trevor Latham (27L).

NEXT TIME

Tri-State Speedway will be closed on September 17TH and will return to action on September 24TH, 2016 for the 46TH Annual Point Championship Races. It will also be Fan Appreciation Night with a free BBQ dinner, driver autograph session and more. Plus, the final $1,500 to win, 100 lap Enduro will take place at the end of the race program.
