POCOLA, Okla. (Jan. 9) – With new management assuming the reigns at the historic Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Okla., a new sanctioning agreement is also in place for the Modified division at the 3/8-mile high-banked dirt oval.

USRA RHS Modifieds will headline the action on Saturday nights in 2012, new promoter Tim Adams has announced.

Drivers in the USRA RHS Modified division at the Tri-State Speedway will compete for a points fund worth up to $1,500 at season’s end to the track champion plus multiple contingency awards and a $10,000 top prize for the USRA RHS Modified national champion in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series.

To whet the appetite of drivers and fans, the track will host a car show on Saturday, March 10, at GCR Tires in nearby Fort Smith, Ark.

A play day is slated for the following Saturday, March 17, from 5-9 p.m. and again on Thursday, March 22, prior to the track’s season-opening ‘Kegger’ event on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24.

The first points race for the USRA RHS Modifieds will take place on Saturday, March 31. In addition to the USRA RHS Modifieds, weekly Saturday programs will also see Econo Mods, Super Stocks, Factory Stocks and FWD Mini-Stocks in action.

The track is located 1.6 miles west of the Arkansas-Oklahoma State line on US 271, then 0.3 mile north. For more information, call 918-436-2914 (track) or 479-782-1198 (office) or check out the Tri-State Speedway online at
